Founder: Ingrid Middleton, LCSW, MSW, MA, MS.
Ingrid Middleton, LCSW, is a dedicated psychotherapist, anthropologist, artist, and author with more than 17 years of experience. Her work centers on supporting clients’ mental and emotional well-being, and she has published books exploring healing and our connection to nature. Her background in anthropology deepens her understanding of cultural dynamics and human behavior, helping her build meaningful connections with people from diverse backgrounds.
Ingrid believes creativity can be a powerful tool for healing and self-expression. Her work explores the relationships among land, people, and animals, honoring the interconnectedness of all life. Through this multifaceted approach, she creates a nurturing space that encourages healing, insight, and understanding.
Pathfinder Psychotherapy grew from a passion for understanding the human experience, inspired by art, anthropology, and the steadfast loyalty of dogs. These interests shaped a therapeutic space where individuals can explore their inner landscapes, honor their stories, and find a path forward. We believe every person’s story is a meaningful journey.

I believe in the importance of treating the whole person rather than just the symptoms of a condition. This holistic perspective allows me to understand the interconnectedness of mental, physical, and spiritual health. Each patient is unique, and their experiences shape their health in various ways. By considering psychological factors, physical conditions, and emotional well-being, I can develop more effective treatment plans that resonate with my patients. This integrated approach fosters a deeper healing process, encouraging individuals to engage actively in their own health journeys. Through mindfulness practices, physical activity, and nurturing the spirit, we can create a balanced environment conducive to healing. Ultimately, my goal is to empower patients to achieve optimal health by acknowledging and addressing all facets of life.

Ecological Focus
At Pathfinder Psychotherapy, we recognize the profound connection between mental health and the natural environment. Our ecological focus explores how the spaces around us shape our well-being. I am dedicated to helping individuals reconnect with nature, honoring its capacity to support healing, reflection, and personal growth. By thoughtfully integrating outdoor experiences and nature-based practices into therapy, we cultivate a deeper awareness of the environment and invite clients to find comfort, perspective, and inspiration in the world around them. This holistic approach supports mental wellness while fostering a greater sense of care and responsibility for our planet—creating positive change in both individual lives and the broader community.
"Pathfinder Psychotherapy created a space where I felt truly understood and supported. Their unique approach helped me connect with myself in a way I hadn't before."
